Pete C TIP: Audio multi-track recording Mon May 19 18:26:07 2003 202.135.78.17 Hi all, You probably know all this but thought I would mention it just in case. Scenario: Record a BSQ but want to have specific effects on each ACC Bass etc.... or separate effects on each track of a SONG..... Ingredients:- 1 x Korg i30 1 x PC with decent size HDD - preferably PII or greater and 256 RAM - any old sound card with a "line-in" stereo port. 1 x copy of "Cool-Edit-Pro 2 (CEP2)" (or equivalent software) Procedures: 1. Firstly create your BSQ (or SONG) - when it's musically perfect you are ready to record - no need to worry about pannings, volumes or effects. 2. Connect your i30 to your "line-in" on your PC. 3. Record each part separately (each on a new CEP2 track) - remember to record the parts "dry" (no effects) if you wish set all the effects in CEP2. 4. (optional) add your vocal tracks here - if you want to automate the "ih" you can play the BSQ connected to your ih and simply record the vocal on the PC - all your harmonies will be perfect. 5. Now you can set each track's panning position, volume, EQ, effects and a whole lot more in CEP2. 6. Finally mix down all those tracks to one track and HEY PRESTO!! You have the perfect recording. 7. Burn that CD and start selling it!!! NOTE THIS IS AUDIO RECORDING AND NOT MIDI Cheers
